What is PDF metadata?
PDF files can store document properties separately from the text and pages visible to the reader.
File Meta Cleaner detects and removes supported properties in the standard PDF Info dictionary: title, author, subject, keywords, creator, producer, creation date, and modification date.
The PDF is processed locally in your browser. After cleaning, the file is reopened to verify property removal, page count, and page dimensions. This is document-property cleaning, not complete PDF sanitization.

Will the cleaned PDF keep its pages and visible content?
The cleaner preserves the page count and page dimensions and is designed to preserve visible page content. You should still review an important cleaned document before sharing it.
Why can the cleaned PDF have a different file size?
The PDF library may rebuild internal objects while saving the cleaned file, so its size can increase or decrease slightly. A size difference alone does not indicate a change to visible content.
Is this complete PDF sanitization?
No. The cleaner removes the supported standard document properties it reports. It does not claim to remove every annotation, attachment, script, form, hidden object, or visible private detail.
Are PDF files uploaded for cleaning?
No. The selected PDF is processed locally in your browser and is not uploaded by the application for cleaning.
