What metadata can a PNG contain?
PNG is a lossless image format that can contain metadata in additional chunks alongside the image data.
File Meta Cleaner removes detected PNG text chunks, EXIF including valid GPS metadata, modification-time chunks, and C2PA Content Credentials chunks. It preserves image data and visual or colour-management chunks such as ICC profiles.
The PNG is processed locally in your browser and retained chunks are copied without changing their contents. Only categories detected and verified as removed are included in the result.

The tool removes detected PNG caBX chunks used for C2PA Content Credentials. This does not guarantee removal of every possible provenance signal, watermark, or third-party detection method.
Will the cleaned PNG remain lossless?
Yes. The cleaner preserves PNG image-data and visual colour-management chunks instead of decoding or re-encoding the image. Dimensions and visible content remain unchanged.
Are all PNG ancillary chunks removed?
No. Only supported metadata chunks are removed. Unknown chunks and visual or colour-related information are preserved unless a category has been specifically implemented and verified.
